Osaka Film Council
Any Landscapes of Japan you may want to film – they are all Here in Osaka!
Osaka Film CouncilThe Osaka Film Council (OFC) was established in February 2000 by the Osaka Prefectural and Municipal Governments and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI) with a view to encouraging filmmakers to shoot films, television dramas, and the like, in Osaka as the location. The Osaka Film Council is the first organization of such kind in Japan, although such organizations are common in many major cities of other countries.

Productions that OFC has so far cooperated for (including films, TV dramas etc.) now number in more than 300, contributing to enhancing recognition of Osaka. While keeping up activities both domestically and abroad for inviting filmmakers to Osaka location sites, OFC provides support and cooperation such as expanding the database of location sites and the registration of volunteer extras (with currently approx 2200 registrants). Through OFC websites, registered from time to time are cooperatively offered facilities (offices, warehouses, factories etc) and volunteer extras. OFC offers its promotional videos and publications such as "Osaka Location Guide" and "Osaka Shooting Guide," for filmmakers' reference.

'Osaka Nightlife Culture’ - To Foster a Mature Nightlife Culture, for a New Lifestyle -
Osaka Nightlife CultureAiming for a renewed city of Osaka where residents, workers and visitors from both within and outside Japan can enjoy a nightlife of rich, delightful, safe and cultural qualities, ‘Osaka Nightlife Culture’ project is being pushed forward, to open up a ‘by-night’ market and also to expand consumer spending. The project aims to widely spread the new lifestyle and promote living in the midtown area, through developing in Osaka more nighttime entertainment and more choices for tourists, as well as through promoting more late-hours shows to enable people to enjoy theater performances or concerts following a relaxed dinner after work. We are also appealing for more supporting projects such as late-night theater plays, nighttime tours for tourists etc.

Trade RAKUICHI (Free Market) - To test your skill, Why not give a Challenge? -
RAKUICHI is opened for anyone to freely take part in, to actually experience ‘trade venture’; particularly for those who plan to start new business or those who are still at early stages of new business. Through many opportunities such as meetings for an exchange of views on business management, purchasing for stocks or promotion of sales or providing information on ways to secure tenants etc., this market provides support to participants for their shop-opening and network building.

Many participants who tried trading at RAKUICHI have made good use of their experiences for start-up of business and further development from business opportunities.
